I’ve always heard that heating things up in a can was bad. The cans have a plastic/chemical lining. Any truth to this?

I've heard that as well. I use my camping pot just in case :)

Need it anyways to heat water for coffee / oatmeal etc.

Black coffee every morning from my Stanley travel french press. (I cannot believe all the instant coffee posts above, yuck!!)
Purest! :D
No breakfast
No lunch
(Google intermittant fasting, it sure makes moto travel easier and gives you more seat time)
Intermittent fasting works well with 12-16 hours. For me, that works if I have dinner around 7 and eat lunch at normal noon-ish time.
I carry snacks just in case but very seldom eat any. Power bars, jerky, flavored tuna pouches, etc.
I drink water in excess from camelback all day long. Top the camelbak off with ice at each fuel stop.
First meal is when I stop for the day and camp is setup. I carry freeze dried, vacuum pouches, Hormel Compleats and MRE's. All except freeze dried can be eaten without any cooking or heating in a pinch. I will often grab something cheap and already prepared near my final stop (Subway, chips, fresh fruit and a beer or milk is a favorite). If nothing convenient then I dig into the panniers and heat up what I carry.
Water is a good thing to mention. Dry camping or just unknown camping sometimes leads to no available water at the camp. On the S10 I always had a gallon jug of ice water to start the day. If no water/ice local to the camp, next stop down the road was fill up on water and ice. The Igloo jug would keep ice all day and then some. If I didn't add water, ice was stay frozen for two days. Sometime tuck a beer can in there at lunch/gas stop for later after camp was set up. Tequila doesn't need refrigeration...;)

Beer doesn’t need to be cold, in fact I am drinking a room temperature beer right now and I prefer it that way.

I've never seen one of those Stanley press/mugs before. Gone shopping...

That french press setup is cool, but I am still too lazy to clean it. :D I don't clean my coffee mug, I use a Contigo spill proof mug for my morning coffee and refill it with water throughout the day, fits well on my cupholder on the handlebars.

Soup cans used to have a BPA liner (some kind of plastic?) but most do not anymore and it's usually listed on the can that it is BPA free.

I like this thread, getting new ideas.....keep them coming!

It fits perfect. Got lucky on this one. Doubles as a nice backrest. My passengers seat is removed. It would fit either way, but with the seat removed it fits better, snug between the grab rails. Its plenty big enough without being too big.

I've experimented with going stoveless the past couple times out (short bouts). Got along fine.
I have a couple of those spoon/fork combos. The serrations on the side of the fork are useless and only make it hard to clean so a quick trip to my belt sander got rid of them.

I've been on the Isagenix food program for a few years and find not only for my health it is awesome but for bike trips so simple. 2 shakes a day makes life pretty simple on bike trips.

Dried fruit is another good food product to take for quick energy.

Tolerable, conveniently sized foil packs.
