Hi to all!
My 2013 S10 when just crank and for the first few miles, the clutch jerks when in Friction zone, when engine temp or a few miles was riden the clutch improves and does not jerk any more.
Will this be a concern?, is there something to be done to get rid of it? any comment, suggestion or recomendation will be appreciated!!

Note, I had read that the bike has many metal and strange nocks but is robust enogh doght.

Regards and have a nice week.

My first thought would be, how long has it been since the hydraulic fluid has been changed?
You mean the clutch system, not idea! but I can replace it with no problem!!
The issue happens when started in the morning and continues for few miles then works OK.
Replacing the clutch system fluid will help!
Thanks.

Maybe fitting the 2nd gen clutch basket would fix it?
Thanks, you say maybe, I would like to have a more firm coment on where to go, since getting a clutch basket is quite expensive and I will have to know if the 2nd generation will fit in the 1st generation.
Thanks.

The second generation clutch basket will definitely fit, many here have upgraded their 1st gen models already. Sorry can't offer anything more firm than a "maybe" via the internet. If you want a firm answer, take the bike to your dealer.

Yep, agreed.

My Gen1 bike has a Gen2 basket fitted and is much better for it.

Please do not get me wrong!
You say you have change the clutch basket to your Gen1, what was the reason of doing it, did you had the jerk behaivior? if not what was the reason?
As allways 2nd generation in everything has many improvements from the previous so it should help some how but I'm still wondering if the issue has to do with the clutch basket or something else.
Even taking it to the dealer I might not get a firm answer, you know that!

Thanks for you impute.

Gen 1 clutch on my bike was, very noisy, lots of vibration, clutch chudder (odd word I know) around the 3k rev mark, which felt horrible through the bike, bike not particularly smooth to ride.

The Gen2 upgrade make the bike noticeably quieter, smoother to ride and the revs seemed to pick up a little quicker. I enjoyed the bike far more post clutch upgrade.

Also check that your clutch lever is moving freely. I had issues with jerky releases and stalling the bike sometimes because my clutch lever was binding. I took apart the pivot, cleaned and greased everything and it was greatly improved. There didn't appear to be any lubrication in the pivot at all. This problem wasn't affected by temperature though, so it does not completely fit your description of the issue, but might be worth a check.

I heard that other brands the clutch may last as far as 30k mi, what is to be consider for the S10 in a regular usage!
1.- What is being your experience?
2.- My S10 has close to 27k mi. should I consider it is close to the end of it's life?
3.-Will a worn clutch fills like a car that you rob the engine and the vehicle hadlly moves, will the same behavior will be in the S10

Thanks in advance.

86,000 miles and no clutch issues. I'd try a lighter grade oil, 10-30 or 10-40. Try finding a motorcycle specific oil.

I have 75K miles, and no problems with the clutch. From what I have read, the clutch should be good for 120K miles or more. Clutch will last less of course if you are doing a lot off road stuff.
