Lunch:
October 9th in Marquette, Kansas. Why Marquette? It is sorta in the middle of the two coasts, and has a motorcycle museum. Be there or be .....not there.
Weather permitting of course, I don't mind rain and even light snow, but after that I get pretty cautious.
Where: City Sundries 104 N Washington st.
After lunch we'll visit the Kansas Motorcycle Museum

Maybe I should have put this in 'Events'....

Looks like maybe a couple riders from the FB page are coming. There might be four of us... I called and spoke with a pleasant gentleman at the museum, sounds like a nice place. The reason I chose City Sundries over the other eatery is because they have ice cream!

Mods moved this to Central region, but anyone is welcome. I'm coming from Utah.

I'll be leaving Utah Monday morning. If they have a room I'll stay at the Viking motel in Lindsburg. See you there!

I'm just taking it easy and will leave Tupelo on Tuesday. Probably spend the night in Pittsburg, KS.

What time do you want to aim for at City Sundries? Noon or?

A nice 500 mile day followed by 250 miles to lunch, then 250 miles back to the hotel in Pittsburg, KS. Another 500 miles home to Tupelo tomorrow. Got 2.5 hours of rain today on the way to lunch in Marquette. First hour was beautiful Kansas sunrise and morning, then ran into big storm cells that I had to ride though. Only a bit of lightning, and nothing closer than about 2 miles, so no big deal. A lot of wind for the last 100 miles to Marquette. Tons of wind all the way back to Pittsburg after lunch too, but no more rain.

Dang, how did I miss this. It would of been a great excuse for a ride.
Well???? Set one up, if I can I'll be there. But maybe south of your location... :D
ps The Docent at the Kansas Motorcycle Museum told Eric and me that there is a real nice motorcycle museum in St Francis, Kansas.

St. Francis museum collection is 90% bikes owned by a former HD dealer from Kansas. He was there when I stopped and made it better. Many early 1900s bikes and some completely restored paint and all. Nice collections of HDs but few German or Japanese bikes that my group wanted to see from our era 1970 on. Destination stop for Harley lovers, maybe not for others.

i just found this thread. I could not have made it that day anyway. As a Kansas resident with family in that area i have been to that museum a couple times. I also rode past the St. Francis museum last June. It was closed and i was in a hurry so couldn’t stop.
