Got mine reflashed took about a week round trip. Got it back and plugged everything back in, bike seemed to start up just fine. Only problem is the ECU brought 8 inches of snow with it so it will be a little bit before I can get it out and ride

Hey all, so installed my ECU and noticed the difference between T and S. Things are smoother and less restricted.
But I do notice when testing all the Motor has to give, it runs out of breath after 1/3 throttle opening. So if I wack it Full open it accelerates slower then if I only give it 1/3 or 1/2 throttle. Most likely did it before too, but now I'm hyper focused on all benefits. I have a email back to AC too.

I just got my ECU back and am loving the benefits from the flash already! There is a big difference in both modes adding power while being smoother than stock. It's definitely worth it for anyone considering this.

I've noticed this too, but my bike is also flashed but with a different service (Flash Tune). It kind of bogs if you whack the throttle full open suddenly and then actually starts to deliver power better as you back off the throttle a bit or just wait. I think this is a result of the relatively large bore throttle bodies suddenly losing intake air velocity momentarily. On carbureted engines, the loss of velocity, and therefore venturi vacuum, also interrupts or slows fuel flow too. I was surprised that this engine, being FI, acts similarly. Anyone with stock tuning notice this?

No, mine do not hesitate, or have a "gap" in power delivery.
Only if the TCS is not disable, because then the front wheel lift, and then the software put it down again.

But with the TCS off, it just keeps accelerate, with full trottle....no "gap" what so ever. And it does lift the front quit a lot only by throttle (unless you lean forward to keep it down), no cluth or other tricks to help lift the front :)

After reading all these issues after a reflash I’m happy mine is stock. IMHO, my local dyno tuner can do a much better job by tweaking the fueling and ignition.

For now the stock CA emissions and Yoshimura slip on are working great. Very smooth and perfect fueling in touring mode and has a good bark and great engine braking in sport mode. Some guys are complaining about limited power the 1st 3 gears. I don’t notice that at all. In sport mode with TC off it screams and will lift the front wheel.

I cannot imagine a reflash making that much of a difference.

I should add that I only notice this in a relatively high gear, low RPM/speed situation, say going 45-50 MPH in 6th, then nail the throttle suddenly all the way to the stop. I don't notice it at all in normal riding or in the lower gears. I've never tried this with the TCS off so don't know if that changes anything.

åh I see....
I have never tried this in higher gear than 2'nd, where I let it run up in high rpm.
But I also do not notice it in the high gear, when I give full throttle, but in these gear I don't reach the high rpm.

So what about 2 - 10 mph at 0 - 10% throttle? Modded vs. S vs. Touring mode? My biggest complaint with the bike is jerky throttle which is a little annoying when commuting but a real son of a bitch when in technical sections on trails.

Have you got your throttle free play adjusted properly? The manual calls for 3mm-5mm. I put mine in touring mode when doing slow speeds and the fueling is really good. It might also have to do with my ASV clutch lever. It has a really precise adjustable thumbwheel. I'm able to control the speed pretty good. The balance not so much. And I also noticed that sloppy clutch use when the front wheel is turned end up in a non savable tip over.

I'm not having these issues at all. For me, the power is more readily available. First time around I went this same route with power commander and dyno by a well known tuner. It was better, but he couldn't tune out some things that were inherit on the stock ECU like a power dip between 60 - 80 mph. Got the reflash....well....much better! And I took off the power commander. Nice part too is when turning the bike on the instrument gauge seems to boot up quicker and smoother. But, I can't speak for everyone...but the flash made a dramatic difference. I was a skeptical one in that things like the low speed jerkiness and engine braking were something I just adjusted my riding around. And I did do this. But now sooo much easier and enjoyable to ride with power delivery more readily available.

Quoting myself here - So i have more than 1000 miles on the bike since the reflash, a lot of it (about 300 miles) off road, some of that very gnarly, at least for a 600 lb bike packed with camping gear.

I'm quite pleased with the changes in the reflash - I think the reduced engine braking is nice, helps going slow, and the difference in the response between touring and sport is good. I actually found I was running a gear lower in some cases than I used to b/c the engine braking was so much less obvious - I usually tried to upshift to help smooth it out and found I was not doing that, which let me carve up corners faster.

Anyway, even though this was kind of a nice-to-have type of investment for me, I am pretty happy I had the flash done, was worth it to me, and the service / speed was fantastic!

Just got my ECU back from avc8130, and it is a night and day difference. Just a quick test ride so far, but S mode is so much more enjoyable. There may be those who enjoy the more aggressive stock tuning, but I was beginning to find it tiring on long rides. Power builds very nicely as you roll on more throttle.

T mode is like butter and should be perfect for those unfortunate times stuck in slow moving traffic.

And you can't beat the price and fast turnaround!

Can you expand a bit when you say touring mode is "like butter"? I am seriously considering an ECU remap, but want to make sure I fully understand the result first.

I am interested as well ... quick question, how does this 'reflash' affect the fuel economy compared to stock?

As with many owner, I mainly use "T" mode since the throttle response in "S" mode is fairly abrupt...it's difficult to ride it smoothly putting around town. But, I do like the how the bike responds in "S" mode. I would like to see smooth, strong respons in the 1st 3 gear in "T" mode (similar to "S" mode) and have better passing response in the "S" mode in highter gear (5, 6th).

Would removing the "HP restriction" result in what I'm looking for in both "T&S" modes?

I was on the fence a long time, not a cheap mod. I would suggest finding someone who has the mod and ride it to see the difference. Just rode a non-mod bike this last week and confirmed I would do it again. Your description of what you seek is pretty much the modified S mode in all gears, in my opinion. I rarely take it out of S mode now, trails or tarmac.
