Second time around in Mesa AZ

So this is my second go round with a 2013 Gen1. I have been through more bikes than I'd like to admit, but I've learned a lot about myself as a rider. I really missed my S10 after spending some seat time behind a S1000RR...great bike... but just not practical at all! I also just forced myself to sell my beloved DRZ400SM because I could stop myself from jumping down stairs and grass hills at the local HS like a 17 year old punk kid. I know I'm 37, but its hard to pass up fun stuff (yes it's dumb I know). I still ride moto here in AZ (13 Yz450F) to help keep the urge to jump thing on the S10 out of my system while on the streets... that and this pig being a wee bit heavy.

Another side note.. anyone else with a black and white S10 have people move out of your way thinking you highway patro...lol cracks me up!!!

Anyway more about the bike... its got 25K miles and will need some new rubber and service soon. I never ran the E07, so I think that's what I give a try next. The bikes set up with GIVI trekker outback cases 48ltr side and 42lts top, Touratech "crash" bars, skid plate and light mount (Rigid SR). Puig headlamp guards and smoke windshield. Oxford heated grips with a Kaoko throttle lock... plus a few ALTRider goodies. I know I didn't get to enjoy picking out all the farkles and blowing my hard earned money... but I still love them all... okay maybe the 48ltr cases are a bit big... but it sure is nice when I need to bring the kitchen sink.

Thanks everyone for letting me lurk all these years and keep up on the Super Ten trends. I look forward to getting out in this amazing AZ winter weather.

P.S. Of the 20+ bikes I've owned over the past 13 years this was the first my wife actually rode on with me. Granted most the bikes weren't meant for 2up but this beast having the top case and pad really helped HOPEFULLY that mean we'll get out and enjoy the fresh air more often.

These pictures were taken at Canyon Lake here in (Apache Junction AZ) on our way up to Tortilla Flats. This stretch of road is nothing short of amazing. I shocked myself dragging foot peg a time or two (something I don't remember doing on my last S10)...all while riding 2up! Though she did feel like puking once we got to Tortilla Flats :)

Enjoy!
Jake

Thanks SileverBullet --- I've ridden it many times. I'm normally headed to Queen Valley by now, but looks like I'll be delayed until the new year. Also, continue on 188 to 288 up to Young and beyond to Payson or Show Low.

Yep I rode it last month and it was very smooth. But don't stop there, TF to the dam on dirt is a great ride and more scenic.

My family has a house boat up at Apache. Been driving that road for ages, just didn't want to push it with my wife. When I finally get around to slapping on new rubber I'll make the trip.

A friend in Gold Canyon said he's ridden it already this season -- said it's quite crowded now that the road is fixed -- beyond Fish Crk -- not so much :)
